Cover Story:

The Prometheus Machine (2021) was a collaborative work created by Pather and Deeley.
This practice consisted of an installation that had both interactive text-based Net. Art and video art.

Fabricated Statement:

''This sculpture is designed to be registered as human, yet we are inherently uncomfortable with it being considered human. The liver itself presents an uncomfortable element to grapple with; the raw flesh, especially that of organs, adds an extra layer of connection between the form and the ideas, as there is less sense of removal. We are compelled to connect the dots, recognizing this organ as a part of us. When it is juxtaposed with the keyboard, the cable, and the monitor, we realize that we ourselves are just a collection of organs. By placing the digital interfaces of the screen and net art on the same level as what is intended to represent a human being, we are forced to evaluate ideas of transhumanism and the post-human condition.''

Fabricated Statement:

‘’The text-based videos were one of the first experiments created by Pather and Deeley. We constructed a text-based video, filmed our hands in front of the video, converted the video into frames, and put them threw the Bye Bye camera frame by frame to then reconstruct this into the whole video again We felt these videos we successfully in exploring this transformation from a human the physical to a digital state. The videos are designed to contradict each other, the glitches are a critique of the post-human idea of technology being an extension of the human condition by exploring the faults in the technology itself, the videos' text however has this blind following of the ideas and acts as though it has already happened.’’
